This Privacy Policy explains how Viter ("Viter", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Viter mobile application for iOS ("App").

This Policy applies to all users of the App and is designed to comply with applicable data protection laws, including:

  • Apple App Store privacy requirements.
  • Other applicable privacy and consumer protection laws.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Summary (Privacy by Design)

  • No user accounts or registration.
  • No analytics, tracking, or profiling.
  • No third-party advertising SDKs.
  • No sale or sharing of personal data.
  • Video and audio are processed on device by default.
  • All projects are stored locally on your device.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary for the App to function.

a) Content You Provide

  • Video and audio files recorded or imported by you.
  • Caption text generated from your videos.
  • Caption styles, edits, and project metadata.

All such content is stored locally on your device. We do not upload, store, or back up your media on our servers.

b) Device Permissions

The App may request the following iOS permissions:

  • Camera - to record video.
  • Microphone - to record audio.
  • Speech Recognition - to generate captions.
  • Photo Library (Add Only) - to save exported videos.

Permissions are requested only when required and can be revoked in iOS Settings.

c) Customer Support Information (Only If You Contact Us)

If you email support, we may collect:

  • Your email address.
  • The content of your message.
  • Any attachments you voluntarily provide.

This information is used solely to respond to your request.

We Do NOT Collect

  • Names, usernames, or account credentials.
  • Location data.
  • Contacts.
  • Identifiers for tracking or advertising.
  • Analytics or behavioral usage data.
  • Payment or billing information.

4. How We Use Information

We use information strictly to operate the App:

  • Record and edit videos.
  • Generate captions using on-device speech recognition.
  • Save projects locally on your device.
  • Export videos to your photo library.
  • Respond to support inquiries.

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or AI model training.

5. Speech Recognition & AI Processing

Caption generation uses:

  • Apple Speech framework (on-device), or
  • Optional on-device ML models (e.g., Whisper).

Audio is processed locally on your device. No audio or video is sent to external servers for transcription.

6. Data Storage and Security

a) Local Storage

  • Projects, captions, and videos are stored locally on your device.
  • You can delete them at any time from within the App.

b) Security Measures

  • iOS sandboxing and system-level encryption.
  • No external databases containing user content.
  • No remote access to your projects.

Despite best practices, no system is 100% secure. However, we design the App to minimize risk by avoiding data collection entirely where possible.

7. Third-Party Services

Viter does not integrate:

  • Third-party analytics SDKs.
  • Advertising networks.
  • Social media SDKs.
  • External tracking tools.

Apple Services

Apple may collect data according to its own privacy policies when you:

  • Download the App from the App Store.
  • Use system speech recognition.
  • Save videos to Photos.

8. Data Retention

  • Media and projects remain on your device until you delete them.
  • Support emails are retained only as long as necessary to resolve your request.
  • We do not maintain user databases or long-term logs.

9. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where applicable, data processing is based on:

  • Performance of a contract - providing App functionality.
  • Legitimate interests - responding to support requests.
  • Consent - when you voluntarily contact support.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access information we hold about you (if any).
